One of the leaders of marketing, hospitality and travel industry Carlson Companies took an evolutionary step to bring luxury cruise service to a new level. They announced that they cruise brand Radisson Seven Seas Cruises will operate under new name: Regent Seven Seas Cruises. In a ceremony held in New York 's Asia Society Marilyn Carlson Nelson, CEO of Carlson, RSSC's parent company, made the announcement of the cruise line's name change. This re-branding of the cruise line, which holds a reputation for distinguished luxury since launching in 1992 clearly signals continued upgrading of services throughout the fleet. It is obvious that line will continue strong alignment with Regent Hotels, also legendary for service.
Jay Witzel, CEO of Carlson Hotels Worldwide and Carlson Cruises Worldwide pointed out that:" "Our acclaimed cruise line is evolving to a new higher level."
Developments over next 18 months were presented on the ceremony, including new services, upgrading suite design, décor, amenities and technology. Everything under a new philosophy: of "The Regent Experience." Some interesting innovations include 100% WI-FI coverage for those passengers who prefer to travel with their own laptops, as well as cell phone signal availability. Top suites will have iPod music systems with Bose speakers. Ships will be upgraded with these features during regularly scheduled dry docks over the next 18 months.
But line's officials also pointed out that some thing will not change. "The new initiative keeps pace with valuable insights gained from our guests, prospective affluent travellers and our extensive proprietary research," said Mark Conroy, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
