In March 2007 Mediterranean Sea and Greek Isles will honorably introduce Carnival Cruise Line’s newest addition named “Carnival Freedom”. Accordingly to strong cultural and historic heritage of those destinations, the ship will feature innovative and original interior theme that will provide with unique journey trough the centuries. “Carnival Freedom” will be designed to celebrate famous historic periods such as: ancient Babylonia, Victorian era, age of Louis XIV, 70'th disco fever and all way to the wonders of 21 century.

As Joe Farcus, Carnival’s ship architect says:” It would be interesting to go back in time to find inspiration for the various public rooms. We tried to use the function of the room to suggest how the room will reflect the central design idea.”
Millennium atrium represents close future with decorations of red and gold tones of iridescent lacquers with cutouts of wood. Colors and tones are changing depending of viewer’s angle. Levels are connected with curved railings of blue glass which lead to elevators decorated with copper applications.
Another Carnival's famous brand Queen Victoria of Cunard Line is inspiration for The Victorian show lounge where guest will be able to experience era and fashion style from 1880s. Design evokes theaters in London’s West End. Center of creation is mural-dome with a giant crystal chandelier.
Two main dining rooms are all about 1990s style and are located in forward and aft of the ship. The atmosphere will be changed dynamically trough hi-tech lighting systems which allows changing color and intensity of light and creating sparkling effect. The walls are combination polished marbles and a special wood decorated in python skin pattern.
Babylon disco represents ancient era of 1000 B.C. The legendary Babylonian palace is recalled along with Hanging Gardens and its most famous king, Hammurabi. Also legendary Ishtar Gate is reproduced in blue-glaze brick creation with mythological animals.
Golden era of sports, which according to Carnivals architects happen to be 1950s are presented in The Player’s Sport Bar. Photographs of famous teams and athletes from mid -20 century are all around. For sport fans there are enough big plasma screens to make sure no big game will be missed.
Sun King Supper Club is, of course, named after Louis XIV “The Sun King”. All features from glorious era of 18th century. The impressive chandeliers hang from the ceiling followed with the tapestries, antique mirrors and murals.
Club 02, the teen’s club is place where new millennium is celebrated. Giant plasma screen are installed in the walls to serve as mood creators with ability to change posters, paintings and landscapes.
Studio 70 disco club brings you dance fever from 70s. Design is inspirited by famous Studio 54 club in New York. Spinning mirror ball hanging from the ceiling with pulsating lights and retro interior design ensure atmosphere of years when disco is on its glorious days.
A fine glass of wine will be served in 1890s at Bar Noveau, designed in art noveau style.
Main poolside area is decorated in style of 1980s with Statue of Liberty incorporated into the pool restaurant design.
Other features of this glorious floating creation will include:
- 1940s in the Habana Cigar Bar
- 1770s in the Monticello Library created in the American colonial style
- 1910s in Scott’s piano bar, named after ragtime piano master Scott Joplin
- 1930s in Swingtime jazz club
- 900s in the Dynasty Room, an homage to ancient China
Carnival Freedom, the 110,000 tons vessel will also keep Carnival's standard amenities such as: bigger than industry average staterooms, high ratio of balcony cabins, huge spa, internet facilities and Camp Carnival for kids. It will accomodate about 2,974 passengers.
