When Costa Concordia, newest addition of Costa Cruises set sail in July of 2006 it will introduce an exclusive spa and wellness center that will be largest ever built on cruise ships. Over the 20,500 square-foot of facilities designed for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation will be offered to 3000 passengers. Named "Samsara", which is associated with path to spiritual enlightenment, bliss and balancing of life energies, this spa will offer full scale of treatments and programs such as ones based on Ayurvedic principles, aromatic herbs, essential oils, exotic plants, state of art fitness centre, exclusive spa accommodations and speciality restaurants.
Thalassotherapy baths, a rock sauna (a hotter version of traditional saunas) and a Turkish bath will also be available.
Special couple's treatment rooms will be set for couples who want to enjoy spa treatments together.
To enjoy full experience of Samsara Spa guests will be offered accommodations in one of 55 cabins and 12 suites situated in the center of the spa including direct access to spa, flat screen TV's and special Samsara bathroom accessories. It will also include access in Ristorante Samsara, specialty restaurant designed to offer spa-friendly cuisine created and supervised by renowned star chef and founder of Italian molecular cuisine, Ettore Bocchia.
Other innovative facilities will include exciting Formula 1 simulator and two luxury pools with retractable roofs.
Costa Concordia will be biggest ship in Costa Cruises fleet weighing 112,000 tons.
